What does grains per gallon mean?
It’s the standard measure of dissolved calcium and magnesium in water. One grain per gallon is about 17 milligrams per liter. Water above 7 grains per gallon is considered hard.
Where does my reading come from?
From your utility’s own reported water quality data wherever we have it, and from hand-checked utility reports for many large cities. Where neither exists we use a regional estimate, and your report says so. Read how we source it.
Do I need both parts?
Yes. Part A cleans; Part B neutralizes the minerals that would otherwise undo it. Part A alone, in hard water, performs much like an ordinary detergent.
Do I get a new glass jar every month?
No, and that’s the point. Your Starter System’s 18 oz glass vessel and amber glass dropper are yours to keep. From month two, your refill arrives in a minimalist stand-up pouch and an amber refill bottle: tip the pods or powder into your vessel, top up your bottle and reuse your dropper lid. Less packaging every month, and every refill ships free, for life.
What’s in it, and how is it certified?
Our pods and powder are unscented and made in the USA. They’re sourced from an EWG Verified™ and Leaping Bunny Certified manufacturer, and built on an EWG Verified™ base formulation. The pods are PVA-free, with no plastic film, and the powder uses bio-enzymes and color-safe oxygen bleach with no harsh caustics or optical brighteners. Part B is a pure, concentrated citric acid solution.
Is Part B a different formula for each tier?
No. Everyone receives the same pure citric clarifier. What changes is the dose printed on your label, calibrated to your water’s hardness, from a few drops for soft water to a full dropper for extreme hardness.
What if I have a softener or a well?
Choose your own tier in your water report before you subscribe. With a softener, choose Soft. On a well, a simple test strip will tell you which tier to pick. Every tier is the same price; only your dose changes.
Can I skip or pause a refill?
At any time. Sign in to Your account, at the top of any page, to skip a month, pause, change your systems, update your water or payment, or cancel.
Where do you deliver?
Across the United States and Canada. The online water reading currently covers US ZIP codes.
